SWF-AVI-GIF Converter

The IwantSoft-developed application SWF-AVI-GIF Converter (SAG Converter for short) can convert Flash (SWF and FLV) files and video (AVI) files. Give it a Flash file and it will convert it to GIF, video, or to a sequence of images (basically it will extract images from the Flash file). Give it an AVI file and it will convert it to a GIF animation.

To get started with SAG Converter you will have to get a 1.1MB archive off the web and onto your computer. After you extract its contents, you must run SAGConvert.exe and follow the steps presented by the setup wizard that shows up. It’s an uncomplicated process and you will be done in no time at all.

I found the dark theme of SAG Converter’s interface to be quite appealing. Not only is the interface good looking, it is easy to figure out as well. There are four tabs assigned for all of SAG Converter’s functionality. A tab for converting Flash to GIF, one for converting Flash to Video, another one for Flash to Image Series, and last but not least, a tab for converting video to GIF.

You can load a Flash file and view it with SAG Converter. After you play with the output settings, you can start converting that file. For the purposes of testing this application, I converted a SWF file to a series of images and I liked that I could preview the JPEG images before saving them. You can also preview the GIF and AVI you come up with.

To sum it up, SWF-AVI-GIF Converter (or SAG Converter) is very easy to use and it does precisely what it says it does – and it does it rapidly and efficiently.
